Rao’s 25th film ‘AK 56’

The popular action films director in Kannada N Om Prakash Rao has taken up his 25th Kannada film ‘AK 56’ that went on the floors at Dodda Ganapathi Temple in Gandhibazaar on Monday morning. The challenging star Darshan switched on the camera while hat trick hero Shivarajakumar sounded the clap board for the maiden shot.

This is a whopping Rs.6 crore ‘AK 56’. 10 years ago Om Prakash Rao directed ‘AK47’ a super hit film starring Shivarajakumar and Chandini for Ramu Enterprises and now he has taken up this ‘AK56’ for Silver Screen Pictures. Om Prakash Rao has already registered a film titled ‘AK 97’ that will be made in a year time.

What is this ‘AK56’ all about? The latest weapons that are found in public in some parts of the country interested director Om Prakash Rao. After reading the newspaper reports of ‘AK56’ in the hands of common people the talented director Rao made a story and filled the commercial elements. The weapon ‘AK 56’ at large is given a logistic end and the theme of this film is ‘Indians are ready to give life and take life for the safety of the country’ says Rao.

One chase and action scene Rao is deploying 100 different vehicles. Venkatesh Babu B who is running the Yellow Pages and Govindaraj M running advertising business are the first time producers.

Siddanth who made debut in ‘Minchu’ and top south Indian actress Nikitha is the female lead. Sumalatha Ambarish, Sharat Babu, Srinivasamurthy, Lokanath, Kishore Ballal, Atul Kulkarni, Swastik Shanker, Suchendraprasad, Yethiraj, Ramesh Pandit, Kote Prabhakar and others are in the supporting cast. Manohar is the cameraman. Abhiman Roy has scored the music.

The invite of ‘AK 56’ that is in 28 color pages is very attractively designed by ad designer Mani. This is the 200th film of popular designer Mani. The cost of each invite is Rs.600 and nearly 1500 invitations have been printed of ‘AK 56’. For invitation alone the duo producers Venkatesh Babu and Govindaraju spent roughly Rs.10 lakhs.
